The LMSD School Board and administrators must provide the programs and environment to maximize the potential of every student enrolled in the district through frequent and conscientious evaluation of the best available research into and studies on curricula and teaching methods.
EQUITABLE ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES
The best educational outcomes depend upon the active involvement of the School Board, administrators, educators, students and parents acting toward a common purpose. All stakeholders should encourage the equitable allocation of resources among schools district-wide, including curriculum, programs and professional development for educators.
DIVERSITY OF VIEWPOINTS
As diversity of viewpoints leads to better decision-making, the LMSD Board and Administration should solicit and encourage input from educators, students and the community at large. In a community filled with talent and expertise the District should aggressively draw from, embrace and leverage those resources.
TRANSPARENCY AND COMMUNICATION
Transparency in decision-making and frequent communication with the community enables parents and taxpayers to participate in the education process in an informed manner. Providing visibility and opportunity for meaningful input within the decision-making process ensures confidence in outcomes.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Lower Merion School District must demonstrate fiscal responsibility through the effective and efficient use of resources and constant evaluation of program efficacy to improve educational opportunities for all students.
